COURSE OUTLINE

Participants of this training will learn how to hire foreigners whether they are currently visitors or temporary residents within Canada or foreigners living outside Canada This course will help hiring managers understand the process of hiring at different skill levels, advertising for that role and implementing the right wage to charge that meets with the regulation. This will include the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) job pathway as well as Provincial pathways of hiring through Ontario, Alberta and Bristish Columbia job pathway that do not require the LMIA process

COURSE SCHEDULE

Participants will learn about the LMIA process; all the requirements, placing an acceptable advertisement; including identifying the appropriate wage based on the skill level and province of employment. 

 

Unit 1 –  Introduction to LMIA 

  • Labour law requirements including with regards to low to semi-skilled workers
  • Labour law requirements with regards to highly skilled workers

Unit 2 – Advertisement Requirements

  • Advertising for the position – putting out an acceptable application
  • Posting on the job boards
  • Selecting a candidate
  • Writing a letter of employment that meets the requirements
  • Gathering information from employee
  • Determine the appropriate noc code, LMIA category and the wage that is suitable for the candidate
  • Setting up your job boards
  • Preparing your candidates job descriptions

Participants would have understood how to set up an LMIA profile & complete an LMIA Application for their candidates; while understanding their obligations as an employer

 

Unit 3 – Applying for LMIA

  • Setting up a profile
  • How to submit and complete the LMIA application
  • Set up an employer profile
  • Complete the LMIA application in part or fully, marking off the document checklists

At the end of this session, participants would have learnt how to complete a Work Visa application for their LMIA candidate

 

Unit 4 – Applying for Work Visa

  • How to set up a CIC (Immigration) profile
  • How to complete the work visa application
  • Understanding all of the document checklists
  • Set up the CIC profile
  • Complete the forms and compile the documents on the application checklist for submission 
  • Drafting a submission letter for your application

Participants would learn about offering a job offer to a foreign National and applying through the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program without the need for an LMIA; including the eligible jobs and National Occupation Codes (NOC). This is for employers in need of Tech, human resources and Business roles for their growing company

 

Unit 5 – Applying through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program – Accelerated Tech Pathway

  • Understanding what the eligible jobs are for the tech pathway
  • Understanding what the appropriate salary should be for each role, how to calculate and verify the earnings appropriate
  • Submitting an expression of interest to Alberta
  • Understanding the process of applying for the provincial nomination and Permanent Residency application after nomination is received
  • Go through the list of jobs together to determine the right fit for the roles they are looking to fill
  • Go through the appropriate wage to determine the wage to be paid to that foreign employee
  • Go through the document checklists and understand requirements

Participants would learn about offering a job offer to a foreign National and applying through the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program without the need for an LMIA; including the eligible jobs and National Occupation Codes (NOC). This is for employers in need of skilled, semi-skilled as well as unskilled roles for their growing company

 

Unit 6 – Applying through Ontario Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream

  • Understanding what the eligible jobs are for this pathway
  • Understanding what the appropriate salary should be for each role, how to calculate and verify the earnings appropriate in a way that allows the employees meet the cut off points
  • Submitting an express entry profile
  • Understanding the process of applying for the provincial nomination and Permanent Residency application after nomination is received
  • Go through the list of jobs together to determine the right fit for the roles they are looking to fill
  • Go through the appropriate wage to determine the wage to be paid to that foreign employee
  • Go through the document checklists and understand requirements

Participants would learn about offering a job offer to a foreign National and applying through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program without the need for an LMIA; including the eligible jobs and National Occupation Codes (NOC). This is for employers in need of Tech, human resources and Business roles for their growing company

 

Unit 7 – Applying through BC PNP Tech

  • Understanding what the eligible jobs are for the tech pathway
  • Understanding what the appropriate salary should be for each role, how to calculate and verify the earnings appropriate
  • Submitting an expression of interest to BC
  • Submitting an expression of interest to the BC Provinical nominee program
  • Understanding the process of applying for the provincial nomination and Permanent Residency application after nomination is received
  • Go through the list of jobs together to determine the right fit for the roles they are looking to fill
  • Go through the appropriate wage to determine the wage to be paid to that foreign employee
  • Go through the document checklists and understand requirements

CERTIFICATION FEE

Fee Per Participant: $3,500
